Week Two - October 7 - 13, 2013

For the most part, this was a quiet week since I caught a cold / sinus issue while we visited The Little People last week.  I knew I shouldn't have inhaled hay dust.  Kicks my butt every time.

On Tuesday, Vicki and I went to see Enough Said and it made me so sad to see James Gandalfini in his last role.  Of course, after the movie, we had lunch and shopped at Garden State Plaza.

On Thursday, we went to see Prisoners!  INTENSE!  I'm glad I saw it but it's definitely NOT repeatable.  Very well acted, though.  And dinner at The Shannon Rose was yummy.

This week, the weather hasn't been great.  On Monday, we had storms and a tornado touched down in Paramus, not too far from here.  On Saturday, Mr. Sun came back out and the day was glorious, although Vicki had to work for a few hours in the middle of the day.  I continued on my crocheting project while Vicki worked.

Sunday morning was cloudy and a tad chilly.  We picked up Ginger and Pat and went to the Nyack Street Fair.  Nyack is in Rockland County, New York along the Hudson River.  It was quite chilly when we got there and some of us sipped coffee while viewing all the wares of the vendors.  By noon, however, Mr. Sun returned in all his glory and coats and sweaters were shed.  And yes, purchases were made by three out of four of us.

Just as I bit into my sausage and peppers sandwich [Vicki had one as well] ,

my cousin, Laurie, and her daughter, Melissa, arrived.  There's nothing quite like street food at a street fair!  And of course, the pure Hudson River Valley air stoked our appetites.

For years and years, [we think since Melissa was 4 or 5] a photo has been taken of the two of us.  I think Aunt Irene [her grandmother] started it.  In any case, the tradition continues.
Melissa is quite a sweetheart.  I sure wish I lived closer to my family but I'm thankful for the trips I take to the East Coast.

After the fair, we all went back to Ginger's house and helped her with a small project.  Then it was home to rest up for this week.

If the weather holds, our plan is to drive down to Wildwood for a day or two, so tune in next Monday,
