October 10, 2012 - Wednesday

Live from Hackensack - it's Wednesday morning!  And things are looking up.

I got here Sunday afternoon and was met by Vicki and Lorraine.  So good to see Lorraine after what she's been through, and it's ALWAYS great to see Vicki.  We stopped at The Crow's Nest for dinner and then headed home to unpack and get in our comfy clothes and chat!

Since I'm a Mac Mama, I had all my devices with me.  My iPad and iPhone were welcomed by Vicki's WiFi but my Air was not.  Oh well.  On Monday morning, after an over two hour phone call with AppleCare, it was recommended that Vicki upgrade her security.  Since it really wasn't a priority to me, we went about our day - well, at least we tried to.  We locked ourselves out of the house at around 11:30 and decided to continue on and worry about getting in later.  I got yarn to do a "movie blanket" for Carol and then we stopped at River Edge Diner for a wonderful diner lunch.

Then on to Main Lock & Key to get someone to let us in the house.  We got to Main Lock at around 2:00 and they told us they'd have someone by between 4 and 6.  With time to kill, we hit a few shops and around 3:45 we returned home and sat on Vicki's porch waiting for our savior.  He got there at 4:04 and in less than 15 minutes we were in the house and raring to do some relaxing.

On Tuesday we picked up Lorraine and went to Glen Rock to take a clock to get repaired, and then to a lampshade shop for a new lampshade for her favorite lamp.  Vicki wasn't feeling very well so after a quick lunch at California Pizza Kitchen, we came home.

On the way home, Lorraine showed us a new development in the process where the Curtis-Wright plant used to be.  Condos, a train station, shops - and a sculpture to honor the women who took over for the men in factories while they went to fight in WWII.  This is Rosie the Riveter and it's stunning.  I just used my iPhone and want to go back with my Canon for a better shot and I do want to see it at night.

While we were at CPK, I tried to connect to WiFi with my Air and was successful and hoped by the time we got home, maybe it would work.  Nope!  Vicki bundled herself up and took some DayQuil then and we watched a movie - I crocheted.  Then, she took herself to bed for a real nap while I put dinner together.

Wednesday morning, Vicki called Verizon and "John" came to the rescue and upgraded her security and all is wonderful with all devices purring along. ;0)  She did all this while feeling poorly so she took herself to the doctor and is now out getting her prescription filled so she can be all ready to go to Seekonk on Thursday.

I'll probably not post again until Sunday so see you then.
