January 21, 2012

Today, my Movie Buddies [Danielle, Rose, Sandra] and I went to see Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close in spite of the negative reviews.  The kid who was The Star was amazing and the storyline was intense but not to the length that there was sobbing - sniffling, yes - but not sobbing.  It was a terrific film and I highly recommend it.

Afterward, we went downstairs to Cibus for brunch.  They had a terrific special today which 3 of us ordered - Rose is a rebel and ordered a panini.  Of course, the bottomless mimosa was had by 3 of 4 -Rose again was the rebel and had the bottomless bellini.  Chatting and catching up was great fun but time to go.
Rose had a ton of things to do at her new home - unpacking boxes, etc. - and Danielle, Sandra and I had to help stimulate the economy, don't you know.

Sandra was in need of a new handbag so off to Macy's we went!  While Sandra was purveying their wares, . . .
Danielle and I preened in front of a mirror.  Aren't we JUST!!!

When I got home, Carol had sent me five fabulous photos of Laura and Josh and I'll just post this one:

I've just got to say AGAIN, I'm so freaking in love with those chicklets!  They are a very spectacular part of our family - to me and I'm sure to Grandma Vicki.

Unfortunately, today was not a 10,000 step day but I've been doing a good job according to my FitBit.

In the background of this post, can you hear one of my favorite films playing?  Something's Gotta Give??? Gosh but I've got to visit the east end of Long Island someday.

It's early but tomorrow's a big day - SF v. NY.  Yes, MJ, my heart is with NY and with you.

Ciao to all who follow.  XO

January 20, 2012

Yes, I'm a few weeks late but still full of New Year's Wishes to one and all.  I just took a trip down memory lane and visited my old blog - sojournsbysash - and did I ever have a great time.  I seem to have been a much better blogger in days of yore than I am now, so I'm going to make a commitment to take more photographs and do more blogging - even if it's boring to you.

Shrimp for dinner was pretty doggone good but so was the 'tini I had prior thereto.  I'd been resting my liver for a week and decided I didn't want it to think I'd abandoned it so I had a toddy.

Oh, I bought a FitBit after the first of the year and in spite of a few days without walking due to a cold Jay generously shared with me, I got my 50 mile badge today.  Woo Hoo!  Where's the money?  I've walked over 10,000 steps each day this week but tomorrow will be low as I'm meeting The Gals for a flick at NorthPark and then lunch.  Maybe I could get Sandra to drive my car home and I could walk.  No, wait - it's going to be chilly tomorrow!

I was going to watch Abduction tonight [Netflix] but just didn't "feel" it.  Maybe tomorrow night.  Oh, I did get a huge pork shoulder today and will take my first stab at pulled pork on Sunday.  Go Giants!  Or Go Niners!  MJ, if you read this, it's Giants all the way. xo

Ciao for now as my Kindle Fire and a new book calls.

[Promise to put more photos in here and to be more diligent with this freaking blog.]
